Come along and develop your ceramic skills with this 7-week wheel forming course.
All skill levels welcomed.
The focus is on developing your skills and knowledge through demonstrations, discussions and practice. During the 7 weeks, you learn how to prepare clay, centring clay on the wheel, how to make various shapes as well as trimming and glazing techniques.
Basic tool kits are provided for you, there will also be tool kits for sale if you are wanting to start your own
Once you select a starting day and time that will be the class you attend every week.
The price includes studio time, tuition, all materials and firing costs.
- 2.5 hours of wheel time per class for seven weeks
- All materials including clay, dipping/pouring glazes and firing of your pieces
- Learn through demos and one on one tuition
- All classes held in the Sailorboi Brunswick studio
- Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting clay on
- An apron/ smock or large over-shirt is a good idea
- Bring an old towel

Dates and Times of Classes
Monday Classes held from 19th April to 31st May - Every Monday at 6pm-8:30pm
Tuesday Classes held from 20th April to 1st June - Every Tuesday at 6pm-8:30pm
Thursday Classes held from 22nd April to 3rd June - Every Thursday at 6pm-8:30pm
Friday Classes held from 23rd April to 3rd June - Every Friday at 10am-12:30pm
Saturday Classes held from 24th April to 5th June - Every Saturday at 10am-12:30pm
It is $560 for the full 7 weeks, this includes all clay and glazes, studio time, tuition, tool kits to use, everything you need to make some beautiful pots.
Health and Safety
In light of everything that is happening right now with COVID19, we at Sailorboi are taking things seriously and following all the health and safety precautions. Right now that includes wearing a mask, if the CHO changes this rule then so will we.
We are very lucky to have a isolated studio and small class sizes, with a bit of care and commonsense we can make sure to look after each other
Refunds, Cancellations & Missed Classes
Please choose your course carefully. Due to the limited class size once you've booked and paid we can only issue a refund if the course is cancelled.
A class must have a minimum of 3 students to run. If the class doesn't run you will be issued a full refund if you can't make it to another class.
If you miss a classes you can do a catch-up class anytime during the term, in any class that as a spare wheel available, missed classes will not roll over into term 2.
